This endoscope is easy to setup and use. I am using the free usb camera app which contains ads. The camera's image quality is okay, image stability is non-existent. The LEDs easily wash out colors and are a little fickle. You just have to be patient and dial in the brightness. It's not hard. But even with all of that, this thing does its job, and for cheap. My focus isn't trying to read a story inside a pipe, it's to see if something is there and what is it. Maybe I can use the hook or magnet to grab it? This tool, for this price, is great. I bought this tool specifically to see if I am getting proper coverage in tight spaces with spray foam.
Got this product yesterday and used it inside one of my air ducts to see if i could find anything interesting. Turns out there was an old cellphone laying around inside so I popped on the hook attachment and fished it out. I am not sure about the longevity of this product since I've only used it a day but I will say that this product is very well worth using when it comes to inspecting areas you cannot get to. I had a small issue with sharp turns or bends in the ducts but it doesnt hurt to get creative and come up with a solution for that :) Camera quality is good. I regret not getting the 5MP camera endoscope but overall everything works out like it should
This is a huge improvement over the first generation depstech borescope. The camera is nearly half the size. I use it for inspecting engines and it easily fits in the spark plug tube or any other part of the engine. And the magnet attachment is a life saver for me, because I'm always dropping tools.
I was surprised by how long the cable is actually. I didn't visualize that at the time :) Nice and stiff so guiding it is not too much trouble at all. I cannot get it to connect to my hone(Note10) but it connects to my Surface Pro just fine. Will work on the phone issue and report back...I feel sure I am missing something silly and obvious. Picture quality is about what you would expect...you arent gonna be shooting an HD movie with this but for inspections and such its perfect.
I bought this camera to find a leak in my truck. I downloaded the software from the website, installed it and it was up and running. Very easy. You have the option to take a still shot or a video. You do need to take into consideration that their is a top and bottom of the camera image. I usually start by filming a familiar object to orient the camera and then proceed to film the area I want to take a look at. I really like the fact it also has several led lights that come in handy in dark places like under the dash of a car or truck.
So far so good, I bought this for working on engines but it has a lot of potential applications. There's plenty of reach with it, the wire is nice and long and is slightly rigid but flexible so you can push it through spaces or around corners, things like that. The lights around the lens are sufficient to light up dark spaces and the brightness is adjustable via an in-line thumb wheel. Plugs right into your phone, tablet, or computer, works well.
The image is good and it focuses from a couple of inches to quite far. Maybe not perfect focus at several feet, but certainly enough to see where it's going. For Android, OTG Endoscope app works and has no ads, Galaxy S10. As another review said, there is a film on the mirror that needs to be scraped off with something plastic. If I were to purchase again, I'd still get USB version but 11ft instead of 16ft. It's a bit unweildy but still a 5 star product.
The camera itself is nicely made and small enough to fit nearly anywhere. The HD 720P resolution is better than the standard video version from the same company. The instructions for use on the Mac says to use Photo Booth. However Photo Booth works but only in standard resolution so if you want to take advantage of the 720P you will have to find other software to do that. Good luck. I have found several that will record video but none that will take stills.
